Last year was a big year for auto racing in Michigan with the return of the Detroit Grand Prix on Belle Isle and Oakland County’s Brad Keselowski winning the NASCAR Sprint Cup for team owner Roger Penske. The new NASCAR season starts Sunday with the Daytona 500. WDET’s Quinn Klinefelter has covered auto racing for many years. He tells Pat Batcheller the race has already made history with a woman starting in the coveted pole position. Even non-racing fans may know her name.
