This American Life
This American Life is best described as a movie for radio. There are people in dramatic situations. Things happen to them. There are funny moments and emotional moments and—hopefully—moments where the people in the story say interesting, surprising things about it all. |

The State Senate has approved Governor Rick Snyder’s plan to turn Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan into a customer-owned nonprofit, and to end its tax-exemption. The legislation now goes to the State House, which probably won’t vote on it until after the election. WDET’s Pat Batcheller asked Michigan Public Radio’s Rick Pluta how the plan would change Blue Cross. Click on the audio link above to hear the conversation.
And join Rick for live call-in shows with Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow at 9:00 am on October 19th...and with Republican challenger Pete Hoekstra at 9:00 am on October 26th. The candidates take your questions this Friday and next Friday on WDET.
