House Republicans want to prove they can balance the budget in 10 years just by cutting spending and not raising taxes. Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan’s plan isn’t exactly new. It calls for repealing the Affordable Care Act, cutting social programs, and requiring future Medicare patients to bear more of the cost. WDET’s Pat Batcheller asked Michigan Congressman Gary Peters (D) if there’s anything new in the Ryan plan, and whether it contains anything he could support.
