MI Reps Mostly Favor Debt Plan

Most of Michigan’s U. S. House members voted in favor of the debt ceiling deal that also aims to cut at least two-trillion dollars in federal spending over the next decade. Hansen Clarke and John Conyers, both Detroit Democrats, voted against the compromise, as did West Michigan Rep. Justin Amash (R). The U. S. Senate is expected to vote on the deal Tuesday.
