The first snowfall of the season caused dozens of accidents on Metro Detroit freeways Wednesday morning. The National Weather Service recorded a little over three inches of snow at its office in White Lake Township. Metro Airport recorded less than an inch of snow. The Road Commission for Oakland County sent salt trucks out before much snow had accumulated. Spokesman Craig Bryson says the operation went well, but he says the job will be much harder this winter due to building budget pressures. WDET's Pat Batcheller talked with Bryson about the commission's financial challenges. Click the audio link above to hear the conversation.
