The National Football League played all of its games as scheduled Sunday, but before each game, there was a moment of silence for the victims of Friday’s school shootings in Newtown, Connecticut. In Foxboro, Massachusetts, the NFL city closest to the tragedy, the New England Patriots altered their scoring celebration. Instead of men dressed as Revolutionary War figures shooting muskets, they saluted the American flag, which flew at half-staff.
