The so-called “fiscal cliff” isn’t the only deadline facing Congress. There’s another one that could affect thousands of people in Michigan who’ve been out of work for months. Emergency jobless benefits will end on December 29th unless a deeply divided House and Senate extend them. 87-thousand Michiganders would lose those benefits immediately. Congressman Sander Levin is the ranking Democrat on the House Ways and Means Committee. He’s described the situation as a “human cliff”. WDET’s Pat Batcheller asked Rep. Levin what he means.
