General Motors reported a profit of $7.6 billion in 2011, the best annual earnings in the automaker's history. GM made most of its money in North America, but suffered losses in Europe and South America. The company also announced that its union employees would earn profit-sharing checks averaging $7,000 each. WDET's Pat Batcheller asked Michelle Krebs of Edmunds-dot-com to analyse GM's performance.
