The Tigers introduced Prince Fielder to reporters at Comerica Park on Thursday. The team signed the free-agent slugger to a nine-year contract. The son of former Tiger Cecil Fielder batted .299 for the Milwaukee Brewers in 2011, with 38 homeruns and 120 runs batted in. The younger fielder is 27 years old and played Little League ball in the Grosse Pointes when his father played for Detroit in the 1990s.
