Detroiters Fast for Immigration Reform

Dozens of people across Michigan are emulating a fast that’s been led for weeks in the nation’s capital. A group of protestors gathered last night in Southwest Detroit. They begin their water only fast today as a show of solidarity with those refusing to eat in tents on the Mall in Washington DC. WDET’s Martina Guzman attended the gathering and spoke to protestor, Eric Shelly. He says he’s not eating in the hopes that it will bring attention to the issue of comprehensive immigration reform.
