When you fish along the Detroit River, you’ll see signs telling you which kind of fish are safe to eat and which aren’t. You may also be approached by volunteers who will be able to tell you more about the potential health risks of eating fish caught in the river. Wayne State is working with the Michigan Department of Community Health to reach out to local anglers. Biology professor Donna Kashian told WDET’s Pat Batcheller the information will help thousands of people who fish regularly.
