Detroit’s new fiscal year began yesterday, which means new contract negotiations for city employees. The city has to trim $25-million from the budget and city officials are asking police and fire departments to take a pay cut. City Council Pro Tem Gary Brown spoke with WDET’s Pat Batcheller about the pay cuts and how they may affect Detroit residents.
