In a controversial consent decree Governor Rick Snyder sent to Detroit officials yesterday, a nine-member financial advisory board would be appointed to oversee the financial and operational restructuring of Detroit.
The first proposal also called for a plan for the consolidation, disposition, or elimination of many municipal facets, including the Detroit Department of Transportation, the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department, the Human Resources Department, and the Coleman A. Young International Airport, more commonly known as City Airport.
Delbert Brown was the director of City Airport from 2003 until 2010.
He tells WDET’s Travis Wright that he supports privatizing the airport.
