Detroit AFSCME President Al Garrett Sounds Off On Consent Decree

A proposed consent agreement from Governor Rick Snyder and Treasurer Andy Dillon intended to aid Detroit’s ailing finances has been delivered to city officials. The plan includes privatizing some city services.

Al Garrett is president of the Detroit chapter of the American federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees union.

He tells WDET’s Travis Wright the consent agreement is a union busting measure that’s bad for Detroit.
