The Detroit City Council meets today with Mayor Bing, who is expected to ask members to remove the city's top lawyer. Bing says Krystal Crittendon's lawsuit challenging the financial consent agreement with the state hurt the city, by causing two ratings agencies to lower Detroit's bond rating. Crittendon says she was required by the charter to file the lawsuit, because in her opinion the agreement violated the charter. A judge threw out her case last week. Bing needs six council votes to remove Crittendon. City Council Member Saunteel Jenkins speaks with WDET's Pat Batcheller about the meeting taking place between the Mayor and the City Council.
