On Being
Being is a spacious conversation — and an evolving media space — where big questions help you to explore the center of human life, from the boldest new science of the human brain to the most ancient traditions of the human spirit. |

To call this week’s lame-duck session of the Michigan Legislature historic may prove to be a huge understatement. Besides making Michigan the 24th right-to-work state, lawmakers passed new limits on abortion providers, repealed the personal property tax on business equipment, and came up with a new emergency manager law to replace the one voters rejected last month. Governor Rick Snyder already signed the right-to-work bills, and is expected to sign the other legislation soon. Bill Ballenger is the editor of Inside Michigan Politics. WDET's Pat Batcheller asked him if he's ever seen a year-end session in Lansing like this one. Click on the audio link above to hear the conversation.
