Stronger Sales, Good Weather Lift Mood for Auto Show

The North American International Auto Show opens to the media on Monday morning. One of the first orders of business will be the presentation of North American car and truck of the year. The Ford Focus is the only domestic model in either group. The show starts off what is expected to be another solid year for auto sales in the U-S, which rose about 10 percent in 2011. The weather is also expected to be much milder than usual for the media previews--with no snow and slightly above-normal temperatures in the forecast. WDET's Pat Batcheller talked with Motor Trend magazine Detroit editor Todd Lassa about this year's show. Click the audio link above to hear the conversation.
