Detroit’s automakers saw higher sales in August. Chrysler led the way with a 31 percent increase… the company’s best August sales since 2007. General Motors sales rose 18 percent…Ford sales were up 11 percent. Toyota and Honda sales were down…as both companies continue to recover from the effects of Japan’s earthquake and tsunami in March. Michelle Krebs is the editor in chief of Edmunds Auto Observer. She talked with WDET's Pat Batcheller about where auto sales are headed for the rest of the year.
