On Being
Being is a spacious conversation — and an evolving media space — where big questions help you to explore the center of human life, from the boldest new science of the human brain to the most ancient traditions of the human spirit. |

Wayne State University hosts a public celebration of the life and career of Sonny Eliot Thursday evening. The legendary broadcaster was on the air for more than 60 years in Detroit, the city where he was born and raised. He died last month at age 91. Many of his friends and colleagues will share their stories at an event called “Always Sonny”. One of the speakers will be WWJ news anchor Jayne Bower, who worked with Sonny for many years. WDET's Pat Batcheller asked Bower what her first impression was when she met him. Click on the audio link above to hear the conversation. The celebration, "Always Sonny", will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 Thursday evening at Wayne State's Community Arts Auditorum.
