Affirmative Action is Critical Civil Rights Issue, Says Peter Hammer

The Supreme Court upheld a Michigan voter-approved initiative banning affirmative action in university admissions. In a 6-2 decision…the court said residents have the right to change the state constitution to prohibit the use of race in admissions. Peter Hammer is the Executive Director of the Damon Keith Center for Civil Rights at Wayne State University. He spoke to WDET’s Martina Guzman about the ruling’s impact on Civil Rights.
