Voters in Sterling Heights are keeping the city’s incumbent mayor in office.
Sterling Heights residents know Mayor Richard Notte well after nearly 30 years in elected office.
Now Notte is heading for another term as Mayor after defeating challenger David Magliulo.
Notte has Chrysler to thank in part for retaining his office.
He took credit for helping keep the automaker’s Sterling Heights plant open after it was scheduled to close.
He also says his administration gained more than a million dollars in budget relief by successfully negotiating for concessions from city unions.
