State Withdraws Lease Offer For Belle Isle

Officials with Governor Rick Snyder’s administration say they are withdrawing the offer to lease Detroit’s Belle Isle and turn it into a state park. The move comes after the Detroit City Council failed to reach an agreement to vote on the proposal amid heated public comment about the issue at recent Council meetings.
