Detroit’s Belle Isle will become a state park under an agreement reached between Mayor Dave Bing and Governor Rick Snyder. The state would lease the park from the city for 30 years. It will provide funding to help maintain and improve the island – and create an annual 10 dollar so-called passport fee for those driving on Belle Isle. WDET’s Quinn Klinefelter was at the announcement and talked about the deal with WDET’s Travis Wright.
