City officials say all power has been restored to buildings in downtown Detroit following a massive outage Thursday. Officials in the Bing Administration say three tie lines that broke-down from overuse during the recent heat wave have now been repaired. A spokesperson for Mayor Bing says all buildings that were affected, including the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center and Cobo Center, now have power. But officials add that they are bringing the power online slowly to prevent cooling units and other elements from having any problems. They say all buildings, traffic lights and other powered equipment should be back to normal within 24 hours. Administration officials say they know that Detroit may have future problems because the city has an antiquated power grid.
