The first mall built in the nation – Northland Center Mall – sits in the heart of Southfield. For some critics the sprawling Northland Mall is a sign of decay in an area once invigorated by activity. But others see the mall as the possible centerpiece of economic revitalization in Southfield’s downtown. WDET’s Quinn Klinefelter talked about the mall and its future with the head of the Southfield Downtown Development Authority, Al Aceves.
