Michigan Senator Lauds Obama's Tone With GOP

Michigan’s senior U.S. senator says President Obama’s package of proposals to create new jobs is just what the state’s economy needs. Democrat Carl Levin especially lauds proposals to hire more teachers and rebuild the nation’s crumbling infrastructure. He also acknowledges that concerns about the plans – from both sides of the ideological spectrum – echo the recent partisan battles in Washington over increasing the federal debt. But Levin told WDET’s Quinn Klinefelter he believes the President is changing both the substance of the ideas he’s offering and the tone he’s taking with the GOP.
