A federal judge is temporarily blocking the government from forcing a Catholic-owned family business in Ann Arbor to offer birth control to employees as mandated under the Affordable Care Act. The owners of Weingartz Supply Company sued over the mandate – arguing it violates the owners’ religious beliefs. But a senior fellow with the Center for the Study of Law and Religion at Emory University says the government exempted only religious organizations from the provision – not businesses.
