Kresge Announced 2011 Arts Fellows

Eleven local artists are sharing $300,000 in fellowship money as the Kresge Foundation has announced their 2011 arts fellows.

The honored artists range in disciplines from photography to painting and even larger public installations. Among the eleven honorees are muralist Hubert Massey, sculptor/photographer Scott Hocking, the husband/wife team of Gina Reichert and Mitch Cope known as Design 99 and John Dunivant - half of the team behind the underground carnival known as Theatre Bizarre.

The eleven Kresge follows are awarded $25,000 each to further their work.

The foundation says nearly 450 applications were reviewed by a panel of artists and arts professionals to make this year’s selections.
