Harper Woods Keeps Mayor for Another Term

The Wayne County city of Harper Woods is returning its long serving mayor back to office.

Kenneth Poynter was elected to another two-year term as mayor of Harper Woods, yesterday. Poynter faced two opponents in the Mayoral contest and beat his nearest challenger by over a thousand votes.

Poynter is not new to public service or politics in the city of 14,000 people. He was first elected mayor of Harper Woods in 1997. Before that, Poynter served on the Harper Woods School board from 1982 until 1997.
