Officials with the Ford Motor Company say they are targeting the mid-size car market. Ford unveiled the new 2013 Fusion at the North American International Auto Show by touting the model that’s most responsible for boosting favorable opinion of the brand. Chairman Bill Ford Junior says the Fusion builds on what the company has already done to increase fuel-efficiency and new electronic systems. “Last year we doubled our investment in the development of wirelessly-connected intelligent vehicles. Cars that could communicate with each other and also with the world around them.” Ford says the company will soon introduce a version of the Fusion that will deliver better fuel mileage than even the highly-touted Chevrolet Volt.
