Detroit Council To Vote On Bing Budget Compromise

The Detroit City Council plans to vote this week on a compromise budget amendment proposed by Mayor Dave Bing. The amendment restores 30 million dollars in funding that Council eliminated when it trimmed an overall 50 million dollars from the budget. But one of the main architect of Council’s cuts – Council President Pro Tem Gary Brown – told WDET’s Quinn Klinefelter the 30 million dollars of funding being offered by the Mayor…has - in essence - already been used up.
