The Craig Fahle Show
Discussing the issues and ideas important to metropolitan Detroit, host Craig Fahle talks with the newsmakers, people making a difference in our community, and WDET listeners. |
The Detroit City Council is scheduled this morning to debate a potential financial agreement with the state. Council received the financial stability agreement last week. Several members called it dead on arrival, because the state did not provide any funding along with its request for a new board to help oversee Detroit’s finances. In addition Council wants to examine tentative agreements reached between the Bing Administration and unions representing city workers. The state says approving those deals could disrupt any agreement addressing Detroit’s finances. Governor Rick Snyder says Council must approve some financial agreement by Thursday – or he will be forced to appoint an Emergency Manager over Detroit.
