Congress Demands Answers This Week On Delayed GM Recall

General Motors has issued a new recall of about 1.5 million vehicles for a variety of potential defects. The move comes as Congress and the US Attorney in New York are investigating why GM waited a decade before launching a separate recall of roughly 1.6 million vehicles for faulty ignition switches. That problem is linked to more than a dozen fatal accidents. The US House Energy and Commerce Committee wants to know precisely when GM found about the ignition problem and what the automaker did to address it.
