One of the more outspoken Republican members of Congress – House Majority Leader Eric Cantor – speaks to students in Ann Arbor today. The Virginia Republican often serves as the GOP counterpoint to President Obama during debates on the issues facing the country. Cantor has a track record of analyzing security and budgetary issues in the House, having served on committees including International Relations, Ways and Means and the Congressional Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare. He’s also the co-author of the New York Times best-selling book “Young Guns: A New Generation of Conservative Leaders.” He’s appearing at the University of Michigan as part of the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy lecture series.
