The Bing Administration is proposing to eliminate funding for the Coleman A. Young Municipal Airport – commonly called Detroit’s City Airport – as part of its strategy to erase the city’s budget deficit. Detroit Mayor Bing says operating the airport is a luxury the city can no longer afford. WDET’s Quinn Klinefelter has been examining the future of the airport and talked about it with WDET’s Pat Batcheller.
