Volunteers Welcome as "A Call to Action" is Heard on Detroit's East Side

As part of WDET’s “A Call to Action”, an effort to unlock ten-thousand hours of volunteerism to improve Metro Detroit, WDET’s Rob St. Mary takes a look at the Ravendale Community Center on the city’s eastside.

According to the center, 85% of the people who live there are at or below the national poverty line. The east side community center has worked for over 25 years to help give people the skills they need to improve their lives.

Rob spoke recently to Ravendale’s founder Toni McIlwain and volunteer Colin Gillis.
