Rodrick Miller To Lead Detroit Economic Growth Corporation

Monday, August 11, 2014

Rodrick Miller has been appointed as the new head of the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation. He previously served as founding president of the New Orleans Business Alliance, a public-private partnership established to spur investment in that city. Miller says it’s critical that Detroit’s economic rebirth is an inclusive process.

“This is a city that has historically has had strong black businesses and from what I understand there are programs that are already underway at the DEGC that are doing that right now… and I think as the city moves forward it’s important to capture all of the opportunities and all of the people that are part of the revitalization of the city and telling our story.”

Miller will succeed longtime DEGC head George Jackson, who announced his departure in January. Miller officially begins the new job in mid-September. He appeared on WDET’s Detroit Today.
