A report on the “Greater Downtown” Detroit area is revealing some new demographic and economic information about the city. Titled, “7.2 Sq Mi,” the report was conducted by the Hudson-Webber Foundation and other organizations. Director of Data Driven Detroit Kurt Metzger speaks with WDET's Annamarie Sysling about the study. He says the findings are important because they replace anecdotal signs of improvement with hard facts. "7.2 Sq Mi" looked at the Downtown, Midtown, Woodbridge, New Center, Eastern Market, Lafayette Park, Rivertown and Corktown communities in Detroit from 2010 to 2012.
