"M" Must Manage More Than Mediocrity

"This team, on paper, is too talented to fail."

Adam Biggers, Michigan football reporter for The Bleacher Report.

College football kicks off this weekend. 8th-ranked Michigan State begins defense of its Big Ten championship against non-conference opponent Jacksonville State Friday. Michigan, which is not ranked, starts the season Saturday at home against Appalachian State, the small North Carolina school that beat the Wolverines in the Big House seven years ago. That stunning upset sent the U-M program into a decline from which it still hasn’t fully recovered. Beating the Mountaineers this time won’t erase that result, and another loss would create even more turmoil in Ann Arbor. Adam Biggers covers Michigan football for The Bleacher Report. He tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller that the Wolverines can make a statement Saturday. Click on the audio link above to hear the conversation.
