New Fracking Rules Could Crack Secrecy

Three Oakland County lawmakers are proposing new rules for “fracking”…the process of fracturing underground rock to extract natural gas. The eight-bill package would require fracking companies to disclose the chemicals they use in the process…and calls for public hearings before any permits are issued. Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner Jim Nash recently hosted several public meetings on the issue. WDET’s Pat Batcheller asked Nash what people say their most common concern is.
