State Senator Says Big Fireworks Should Be Left To The Pros

July 16, 2014

"It, I believe, was a false and a bad choice for the Legislature to opt for a little bit of revenue, and a bad trade instead of protecting public safety."

Michigan State Senator Glenn Anderson (D-Westland).

State law allows people to shoot off fireworks on and around national holidays. But some Michigan residents are still lighting them, nearly two weeks after Independence Day. Westland Democrat Glenn Anderson tells WDET's Pat Batcheller there have been too many injuries and complaints since the ban was repealed. Click on the audio links above to hear the conversation.
