Record Recalls Slow GM Earnings, But Not Sales (Yet)

General Motors says it has identified 15 more crashes involving faulty ignition switches, raising the number of such collisions from 32 to 47. The number of people killed in those crashes remains at 13, though the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says that figure is probably higher. Since news of the ignition switch problem came to light, GM has recalled about 16-million vehicles worldwide to fix a variety of safety issues. Paul Eisenstein is publisher of thedetroitbureau.com.
