The Southfield Public School district announced on Thursday that Superintendent Wanda Cook-Robinson will leave her position in early March. She’s joining the Oakland County School administration as the superintendent’s Chief of Staff. During her nine-year tenure in Southfield, the district reduced its 18-million dollar deficit and partnered with area universities to create accelerated academic schools. Wanda Cook-Robinson tells WDET’s J. Carlisle Larsen that the decision was difficult to make…but that she’ll be moving back into familiar territory.
