Detroiters Value Sense of Community: Detroit Agenda

Wednesday, January 8, 2014

Most Detroiters have a clear vision of what they want in their neighborhoods. Ask them…and they’ll tell you. One of the ideals city residents value is a sense of community. As part of WDET’s special project called “The Detroit Agenda”, News Director Jerome Vaughn spoke with Avis Vidal. She’s a Professor of Urban Planning at Wayne State University. Vidal starts by defining the idea of “sense of community”.

WDET’s news team took to the streets to talk to hundreds of Detroiters about their neighborhoods – asking what they wanted for their communities – and what needs to change. Learn more about The Detroit Agenda here.
