Tom Couch has spent bulk of his career in commercial radio and is excited to be into Public Radio with WDET. He’s led creative efforts at numerous large market radio stations, including WDRV and WXRT Chicago, WBCN and WZLX Boston, and WNEW-FM NY. His prior focus has been as Director of Creative Services, where he has been responsible for the produced sound of stations. He has won many awards for his work, including an Emmy nomination during a short stint as a writer for SCTV. He has produced many special productions, including yearly fireworks music extravaganzas, a weekend-long History of Rock and Roll, and a tribute to NY radio legend William B. Williams, hosted by Frank Sinatra. He has also produced and directed the annual National Radio Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies broadcast for multiple years.
